When I am not working or studying, I enjoy spending time with my husband, friends, and 2 dogs, as well as writing, reading, dancing, and working on the multitude of home improvement and gardening projects I always seem to come up with.
travel
Over the years, I have lived in Russia, Finland, Venezuela, and the Republic of Moldova, and have traveled extensively in numerous other countries. Memorable moments: being surrounded by baboons at the tip of the Cape of Good Hope, hiking in the fairy tale-like woods of northern Finland in winter, traveling by canoe to Angel Falls and climbing to the top of Huayna-Picchu, an unexpected landing at an abandoned airport in Belarus, being greeted by boy-soldiers with machine guns while hitchhiking across the Russian border, visiting Check-point Charlie and the Berlin wall in 1985.
outdoors
Living in Utah, it is easy to take the outdoors for granted, but I try hard not to do that. Camping in the desert and the mountains, trail running, road cycling, and snowshoeing are some of my favorite activities.
