Recently I discovered that my favorite SE Asian market carries dried rosebuds and something\u00a0I hadn&#8217;t seen before: bael fruit.<\/p>\n<p>Bael fruit is<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Aegle_marmelos\" target=\"_blank\"> known<\/a> by many names:\u00a0Bengal quince,<span style=\"font-size: 13.5px; line-height: 0px;\">\u00a0<\/span>golden apple,\u00a0Japanese bitter orange,<span style=\"font-size: 13.5px; line-height: 0px;\">\u00a0<\/span>stone apple, and\u00a0wood apple. Native to India, it is often used in a\u00a0popular summer\u00a0drink.<\/p>\n<p>The package I found was from Thailand, though, so I dug into <a href=\"https:\/\/praneesthaikitchen.com\/2014\/12\/16\/bael-fruit-tea-recipe-cha-matoom-%E0%B8%8A%E0%B8%B2%E0%B8%A1%E0%B8%B0%E0%B8%95%E0%B8%B9%E0%B8%A1\/\" target=\"_blank\">how it is used<\/a> there and mixed it with the roses.<\/p>\n<h3>How to Make \u00a0the Tea<\/h3>\n<p>Find yourself some dried bael fruit and roses, as well as rose water. Or, add 1-2 teaspoons of rose water (not syrup) depending on how strong you want the rose flavor to be.
