{"id":896,"date":"2012-10-04T10:10:24","date_gmt":"2012-10-04T16:10:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/realfoodchronicles.maoomba.com\/?p=896"},"modified":"2016-04-23T19:48:52","modified_gmt":"2016-04-24T01:48:52","slug":"eating-indian-food-pumpkin-masala-recipe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stormysweitzer.com\/recipes\/eating-indian-food-pumpkin-masala-recipe\/","title":{"rendered":"Eating Indian Food + Pumpkin Masala Recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I distinctly remember the first time I ever ate Indian food. \u00a0I was 19 and had still not been exposed to many of the world\u2019s cuisines; my tastes were pretty mundane and the spices and heat were just so <em>foreign<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>It wasn\u2019t until I met my future husband, Will, a few years later that I had Indian food that changed my mind about eating it completely.<\/p>\n<p>We were visiting London over the holidays and ate our way around the city. \u00a0If ever there was a place outside of India to eat good Indian food, that was the city to do it in.<\/p>\n<p>Wow! \u00a0Those foreign spices were suddenly so good.<\/p>\n<p><em id=\"__mceDel\"><em id=\"__mceDel\"><em id=\"__mceDel\">These days, Indian food \u2013 rice or no rice \u2013 is a significant part of our diet. Stir for 2 minutes.  Then add salt, turmeric, curry powder, minced ginger and garlic to pan.  Stir and cook for 2 minutes longer.\r<\/li>\n\t\t\n\t\t            <li>Add pumpkin, coriander powder, chile powder, and water.  Mix, cover, and reduce heat to medium.  Cook until pumpkin is tender.  About 15-20 minutes.
